FUTUREBASE

FutureBase aims to develop new data analytics software for assisting strategic security policy-making. The software will be able to collect, cluster and interpret global (text-based) data sources and help assess policy options for national security. The project partners come from the private and public sector and include Hague Centre for Strategic Studies, AGT International, The Royal Library and Surf Sara. The project is co-fundedbyThe Hague Security Delta.

FutureBase is a three step project. The first step, Ingestion, is when strategic foresight sources will be implemented in a structured database. The second step, Digestion, uses FutureBase’s associated organisations to process the different stored sources in coordination with a number of semi-automated linguistic IT-tools (text mining). The third step, Egestion, will present thee automated analyses.
